Most of the major Australian water filtration suppliers have invested many years and dollars in sourcing or developing their own products. As always time and technology moves on.  Now some of these technologies developed a decade or more ago have competition.

Bundaberg Water is not a developer of water treatment technology.  Instead we stay abreast with the latest technologies.  Disruptive technology is now prevalent and cost affordable for the domestic potable water treatment industry.

Our mission is to offer these new cost efficient, fully certified technologies to our clients.

We partner with you to provide safe, healthy drinking water for you and your family.

Bundaberg Water Range of Rain Water Filters and Disinfection Systems

We design your system from the following range of components to best meet your requirements and budget.

Pentek "Big Blue" 20" x 4.5" Wall Mount System in Twin, Triple or Quad Configuration

Pentek 20" Big Blue Triple Filter Configuration

Pentair Pentek Big Blue and Big Black Heavy Duty Filter Housings offer the versatility to meet all of your large-capacity filtration needs, including high-flow and heavy-sediment applications. The extra large housing allows for greater cartridge capacity, reducing the number of vessels required for high flow-rate applications. Sumps are available in both 10″ and 20″ lengths.

The High-Flow Polypropylene (HFPP) cap is available with 3/4″, 1″ or 1-1/2″ NPT inlet and outlet ports. The 1-1/2″ internal port allows a greater volume of liquid to pass through the HFPP cap more rapidly.

Big Blue and Big Black Housings are compatible with a broad range of chemicals and are available with or without a pressure relief button. They accept a wide variety of 4-1/2″ diameter cartridges.

Atlas Filtri 20" x 4.5" Twin, Triple or Quad Wall Mount System

Atlas Filtri Triple Filter Housing

Bundaberg Water also uses the premium quality Italian made Atlas Filtri filter housings. Patented one-piece housing tops ensure leak-free connection between housings with extreme rigidity and structural strength across the whole filtration system. With a pressure rating of 120psi and 3-year warranty, the filter housings surpass all other systems with ease.  These are our filter housing of choice for all 10″ x 2.5″ under sink filtration and an option for whole house filtration systems.

UV-Guard UV Disinfection

UV-Guard SLT Series with optional Waterproof Controller

The UV-Guard SLT-Series is a cost effective and high performing UV water disinfection system. With 8 models in the range and options to allow indoor and outdoor installation, the SLT-Series is ideal for under sink, whole of house, swimming pool and pond clarification uses.  Read more

UV-Guard was founded in 2008 by UV disinfection industry experts with experience spanning over 50 years. Since inception, UV-Guard has developed into a leading UV water treatment business supplying complete treatment systems, spare parts for all UV brands and qualified UV system maintenance.

They invest heavily in research and development which allows them to bring to the market innovative technologies and next generation UV disinfection system features.

UV-Guard has a long history within the UV disinfection industry and has been quality assurance accredited to ISO 9001:2015. They are proud to be a 100% Australian owned & operated company with head office located in Sydney, NSW and storage facilities located across Australia.

Rain water filters must be used before the UV disinfection to ensure all particles that can harbour pathogens have been removed from the system.

Quantum Disinfection

Quantum Disinfection™ is a revolutionary technology that uses quantum mechanic principles of electron movement to create catalytic active surfaces. This is the first time such a technology has been used to disinfect water.  Read more

We believe Bundaberg Water is currently the only Australian seller of this new revolutionary water disinfection technology.

Clarify 12 disinfection system has a working life of 750,000L.  It’s worthy of consideration as an alternative to UV for households of 4 people or fewer or where there is discolouration in the water (Tannins) preventing the optimal use of UV.

Rain water filters must be used before this filter to remove oversized particles which can clog the disinfection filter, reducing its life.

Ultra-D Submicron Depth Filtration

The Ultra-D Submicron Depth Filtration is an excellent Point of Use (POU) disinfection system that can be used as an under sink water filter.  It’s 2-3micron pore size and 0.2micron effective size ensures a 99% removal of viruses and 99.5% removal of bacteria and cysts.  Read more

We use the higher quality silver impregnated filter option (the green cap in the brochure) to ensure longer filter life.

While having a minimal 2psi pressure drop at single taps we only offer this filter in Pentek Slime Line filter housings for POU installation.  And because of its low pressure drop, unlike other under sink water filters, this filter is able to be connected straight to your existing taps.  Meaning no cutting holes in bench tops or additional faucets.

Unicel Pleated Filter Cartridges

Our filter of choice for primary sediment filtration is the Unicel Industrial Filter Cartridge.  They are a tough light commercial filter, and unlike inferior products they are manufactured from 100% synthetic filter material.  This means there are no resins, surfactants or binders to break down or leach out during the filtration process. Most retail sellers of filter cartridges will sell you a Poly Spun sediment filter.  This is so they can sell you high cost replacements quicker.  We always use a Pleated cartridge as our primary sediment filter.  They have a greater surface area that reduces pressure drop and maximises dirt holding capacity.  Depending on sediment loading they can be washed out and reused up to 6 times.

Silver Nano Technology - Coconut Activated Carbon

For general home situations we use Pure Filters Silver Nona Technology 100% Coconut Shell carbon block.  They are manufactured from a renewable resource in Thailand and are certified to NSF/ANSI 42 Drinking Water Treatment Units-Aesthetic Effects.

Carbon filters are used to remove certain contaminants that can fall on your roof and wash into your rain water tank.  These may include chemicals, herbicides and pesticides. Our final filter of choice prior to the disinfection system or entry to the house is a carbon filter.  They are the best known treatment for organic chemicals, VOC’s, pesticides, herbicides, chlorine and its by-products.  It’s also an unchallenged taste-and-odor improver. Read more

The silver added to the carbon block is a “bacteriostatic” agent, not a biocide. This means merely that it inhibits the growth of bacteria in existing filter beds. Carbon provides a fertile growing place for harmless, non-pathogenic, heterotrophic bacteria.  This bacteria can quickly form a layer over the filter medium reducing the carbons capacity to perform and hence reduce its life span.

Pentek DGD Filters

Because triple filter systems are used where there is a higher sediment loading a specialised cartridge is required for the second sediment filter.  In this case we utilise the Pentek DGD Series.

This filter is dual graded.  Meaning it has larger passages towards the outside of the filter, grading to the actual given micron cartridge size towards the centre.  This provides greater filtration while maintaining adequate pressure.  It also enables us to match the filters micron size to the carbon filters micron size, ensuring the carbon filter doesn’t become clogged with sediment, reducing its life span. Read more

Benefits of Pentek DGD Series Dual Grade Sediment Filters

  • Protect downstream equipment and appliances
  • High Dirt-Holding Capacity: Up to three times that of similar sized sediment cartridges
  • Designed for Purity: will not impart taste, odour or colour to the liquid being filtered
  • Bacteria and Chemical Resistant
  • Spun fibres form a gradient density from outer to inner surfaces

Harmsco Poly-Pleat Filter Cartridges

When designing a water treatment system the client is asked if they require complete disinfection.  If so we specify either UV or Quantum Disinfection.  However in many cases this is not required.  If so we use the Harmsco Poly-Pleat 1 micron filter cartridge.

The Harmsco poly-pleat filter in a 20″ x 4.5″ format has an exceptionally low  pressure drop for a 1 micron absolute cartridge of only 0.75psi @ 20L per minute.  Making it a viable cyst reduction filter for whole house situations.
